Greg Browning – Principal Technical Recruiter
I was born and raised in “Big Sky Country”, Missoula, Montana. I graduated from the University of Montana (Go Griz!) and moved to Seattle shortly after the ‘Grunge’ music scene had subsided, when Sonics were super and Seattle still felt small. I immediately fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and landed my first gig working as a temp for a large staffing agency.
They soon offered me an in-house Staffing Specialist role, where I placed warehouse workers at Amazon, back when they were just a little online bookstore. During my short time at this staffing agency, I met many life-long friends, one of which had recently joined a bourgeoning Technical Consultancy in Kirkland called Best Consulting. She persuaded me to interview with them for a Technical Recruiter role. I didn’t have any technical background to speak of, but my timing was great, as there weren’t a lot of people who had deep experience in this nascent industry. I interviewed, got the job, learned the ropes, and have been in Technical Recruiting ever since.
Earlier in my career, I supported mostly enterprise clients – Microsoft, Amazon, Disney, T-Mobile, Boeing, etc. As my career has progressed, I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients of all sizes and I’m currently working with several fast-growing, early-stage startups.
I have deep roots in the Seattle tech scene, but I’ve built a vast network of clients and highly skilled technical professionals throughout North America. I work closely with my clients to understand their unique needs and still get excited every time I’m able to find them that missing piece to their puzzle. I’m passionate about helping technology professionals succeed and I’m honored to be a part of their journey.
